Welcome to St. Agnes Academy Brother Zachary
We are overjoyed to welcome Brother Zachary from the Servants of the Pierce Hearts of Jesus and Mary to join our faculty at St. Agnes Academy. Brother Zachary will be teaching religion as well as assisting our Faith Formation Department.
God bless you! My name is Br. Zachary Craig, SCTJM. Currently, I am a novice Brother of the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary, Religious Brothers and Priests, founded by Mother Adela Galindo in August 2020. Many of you know our wonderful Sisters who serve in St. Agnes and in other places. I have completed my canonical year of novitiate, which means that I am in the last stage of formation and preparing to profess my first vows as a religious.
Originally, I am from Illinois, where I attended Illinois State University (ISU) studying education, and there I met the Servants who were ministering at that time at the John Paul II Newman Center. My mom is a secretary at the Catholic grade school where I went from Kindergarten to Eighth grade, and it was there that I found a desire to be a teacher, especially when I would stay to help the teachers while my mom was working. Growing up, I was an Eagle Scout, and I served in many different leadership positions within boy-scouts.
During a pilgrimage with the JP II Newman Center I felt the Lord calling me to be a Servant so I "dropped my nets" and followed His call. Since joining the Servants I have been teaching Catechesis for First Communion, serving at different summer camps, and assisting in our Vivet movement for kids, youth and young adults.
I am very grateful for this opportunity and look forward to being a part of the St. Agnes family.
